Xiaomi set to launch smartphones in India

Xiaomi is a leading smartphone maker in China, and the company now has plans to expand its business in Asia. Xiaomi is planning to launch operations in India, Philipines and Thailand soon. The company recently launched its operations in Singapore. The company sells smartphones in China through an online only model and makes money by selling services and applications.

Recently Chinese smartphones makers Gionee and Oppo launched their operations in India and are becoming very popular. Indian smartphone market is heavily dominated by Samsung and Micromax, however Samsung phones do not interest a lot of people for the fact that there are no design innovation from Samsung and people want something new and gorgeous looking. Micromax is another big player in India which sells smartphones at affordable prices, Micromax does not have its own manufacturing plant and it imports phones from China and rebrands them before launching them in market.
Xiaomi is likely to make budget smartphones, Indian market is already flooded with too many budget phones and Xiaomi will have to come up with new design and features to lure buyers to buy their phones. The company got some quick fame among gadget enthusiasts with its MI 3 smartphone which packs some good hardware and amazing features.
